Prayer Request

We have been hit by yet another illness, the flu.  Christopher, Kerry and 5yo have had it for the last couple days.  7yo already went through it but is still coughing and blowing his nose and has a belly ache.  4yo and 5yo have had diarreah and 5yo threw up today and is complaining about his ears when he coughs.  1yo just started with a high fever and still has a cough from the last cold/flu.  4yo also still has a cough and runny nose from the last cold/flu, but is the only one to not have the current flu.  Kerry also has Mastisis.  I don't believe we have had one day since we left Ohio where everyone was feeling well.
We generally don't get sick often and have never had so many things going on at one time.
We are currently hiding out at a state park in southern NM.

Forgot something:  Christopher has had a mystery bloody nose all day long

Driving Update

We were on our way to San Antonio and were spending the majority of the day driving. A day before, I was encouraging a brother in Christ to share the Gospel as God leads him. He told me how he gets chances to witness to Muslims and has been too timid to do so. We have prayed that God would give us opportunities to witness to traveler and professional truck drivers. We stopped for some fuel. While in the travel center of the truck stop a fella mentioned the RV. We talked briefly while walking out. I offered him a Bible. He told me he was a Muslim. I asked him about Muslim beliefs about Jesus. He agreed that they believe that he was a good teacher and prophet. So I encouraged him to read the good teachings of Jesus. He excepted a New Testament Evidence Bible. Praise God!

On another note, we don’t have any pictures this week. Our SD memory broke inside the camera. The card is no longer readable. There are a few articles online on how to recover pictures from broken cards, so all may not be lost.

We just made it to New Mexico as of about an hour ago!
We've had several areas of no internet connection and so limited ability to update.
The boys are still sick.  On the upside, I quizzed them today and they know the names and locations of all of the southern states.  They will have a wonderful homeschool field trip tomorrow with Daddy to the Carlsbad Caverns before continuing on our route.

Friends of our's allowed us to stay in their driveway while passing through San Antonio.  It is was nice to see the Minicas, even though they were sick, too.  Their children are so sweet, happy, and obedient.
We pulled off the road at their house before deciding where to park and got stuck in the sand!  But, even though it was a quiet road, someone came by right away, offering to pull us out with his tractor!  We were out in no time!  God continues to bless us this way, answering our prayers as we're praying them!  :)

We are excited to see what lies ahead once we get out to western Arizona.

Our time in Mobile, Alabama

Christopher preaching on the beach in FL.  Photo by Margie Lundy,  Lundy5.com

This week Christopher had the opportunity to team up with Daryl, a local Mobile area pastor, to go out and share the gospel.  There was a wide variety of responses, including a person who wanted to visit Pastor Daryl’s church.   Another member of this church, Dan, will team up with Christopher tomorrow and they will head out to inner city parts of Mobile, so please be in prayer for open hearts to the good news of Jesus Christ.

And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.    Mark 6:7

We have needed to have a few days of laying low this week between bad weather and our sons all being sick.  They have caught a few different things in the short time we’ve been on the road and currently three of them have a nasty cough and congestion.  We’re hoping they will be in good enough health to visit Pastor Daryl‘s church this Sunday before we leave town.

We will begin a long trek to New Mexico starting Monday.  We will use this time to minister at truck stops and rest stops, focusing on long haul truckers and fellow travelers.  After a short time in New Mexico, we will carry on to Quartzsite, Arizona where we hope for many ministry opportunities.  If all goes well, we plan to stay put in Quartzsite through the rest of the winter.

We would like to add an additional item to our ministry needs list- large print Bibles or large print New Testaments.  These will be passed out to both homeless with poor eyesight and to the elderly.

Thank you for your continued prayer support.  God continues to line things up, taking us down literal roads without us realizing the purpose until later on.  We have really been in awe to see Him move in this way while we're no one important, just willing to "go".
